PARIS PAPER SHOW October 2012

It was time to return to Paris for the October installation of the Salon du Livre Ancien et Papiers Anciens (aka the Old Paper Show or le Vieux Pap) held at the Espace Champerret on the western edge of the city limits. Show has shrunk down a bit from previous years, while at the same time, now located in the larger and better lit area of the venue.

Always enjoyable walking the aisles looking for material and visiting with colleagues, dealers, friends and acquaintances. Upon entering the metro I was pleasantly surprised to see this ad for the show (above, the theme for the show: pin-ups) as the promoter makes a bid for a bigger turnout. Photos from the show, including some of the cast of characters, follow.

New York City POSTCARD SHOW November 9,10 & 11

The storm has passed, the city and the metro area are reeling from the affects and we should all do something to help those in need, especially people in Brooklyn, Long Island, Westchester county, Staten Island and the Jersey Shore.

One bit of good news is that the New York City International Postcard Show will be held as planned, this coming weekend November 9th, 10th and 11th at the New Yorker Hotel at the corners of 8th Avenue and 34th Street. Please come and support the show and all the dealers and collectors who make is possible. And don't forget to help your neighbors in need. Click here for details.

Art Book Fair 2012: New York City MoMA PS1

Once a year, at the end of September, New York City and the artists, publishers and editors from the world over who partake in this three day event, go totally crazy for the visual arts, including new, out-of-print and rare books; limited edition artist's books; prints, posters and 'zines. One of New York City's art events that I most anticipate as the summer season unofficially draws to a close.

Produced by Printed Matter and presented at the MoMA PS1 annex, in Long Island City, Queens, it was hot, sweaty and crowded and most importantly, a total visual overload!
