Paris Box Trucks Graffiti Tags October 2015

On my way to Le Monte en l'Air, one of my regular stops in Paris for contemporary books, I noticed many graffitied and tagged box trucks lining the blvd Menilmontant. I was surprised that the number of trucks on this stretch of major Paris street had not caught my attention previously. Then I remembered it was Sunday afternoon, the trucks and their drivers idle for one day of rest. Here are some of the trucks I shot during a walk along the boulevard.

Paris Street Art Graffiti Wheat Paste Murals 2015

Venturing into the northern edges of Paris I have been exploring the 19e and 20e arrondisements, which include the Belleville and Menilmontant areas. Long associated with working class and ethnically diverse populations, the two neighborhoods have been seeing a bit of renewal attracting restaurants, galleries and bookstores. Here is a selection of some of the graffiti and wheat paste street art I've photographed during the previous twelve months, not just in the northern perimeter of the city but in the subway and other neighborhoods where the artworks are left untouched by the Parisian cleaning crews!
