Suzanne Meunier
Eros magazine was a creation of the publishers of La Vie Parisienne, Librarie des Estampe and edited by Leo Fontan. Fontan was also an accomplished illustrator and a contributor to Eros. Published at the height of the art deco style era, it was a very simple and elegant, oversized publication with beautifully printed covers and four loose plates inside ready for framing and display.
The concept, offering reproductions of artworks in portfolio form to the "average" person was nothing new. However the presentation and content of Eros, its stylized risque illustration of beautiful seductive women, was something new. Publication began circa 1921 and continued to the end of the 1920s. Illutrators included Suzanne Meunier, Leo Fontan, Jaquelux, Gerda Wegener, G. Cirmeuse, Henri Meunier, Lorenzi and Georges Leonec.
