NYLONS & NUDES 1950s Digest Size Garter Belts & Stockings

In the mid/late 1950s in New York City the first specialty magazines appeared, all in a "digest" size format (approx 5.5" x 8") created by a handful of independent publishers. The magazines were sold only in adult bookstores. Some of the most popular were the "garters and hose" titles, precursors to what Elmer Batters' and company would create in Los Angeles in the late 1950s and eventually take-off as Parliament publications. A selection from the Vasta Archives featuring Black Nylons and High Heels, Garter Parade, the very scarce Stocking Parade, Black Satin and Nylon Legs.

Over The Knee! 1950s Spanking Toupee & Glasses OTK

I love this series of amateur style photographs, early 1950s, featuring the lovely submissive with her dressed pulled up and her panties pulled down. She's showing off her legs and wonderful ass while being spanked by an atypical spanker in toupee and  glasses. He appears in some photos in jacket and tie or bow tie; others in t-shirt or no-shirt, wielding his open palm or hair brush. They all have a sense of reality, movement ... can you hear the smack!! MARQUIS Men's Magazine: Los Angeles late 1960s

Marquis magazines, published in Los Angeles, began appearing in the mid-1960s. Quantity-wise they were no competition for Parliament Publications whose list of titles dating back to the beginning of the 1960s was enormous. However, the quality of the Marquis production, photography and models was excellent rivaling Parliament's. The Marquis models always looked great both in and out of sexy lingerie as the editors and photographers focused on panties, garter belts, stocking and heels heels. 

Posted here, from deep in the Vasta Archives, is a selection of Marquis titles circa late 1960s to the beginning of the 1970s. They had a knack for using adjectives as titles: Spunky!, Sharpy, Whammers, Swagger, Stingers, Cheeky and Pouty to name a few; some of the more traditional titles: Nylon Treasure, Sin & Sigh and Big Bosoms.

Parliament Men's Magazines: Genesis The Early 1960s

 

Started in the late 1950s as the American Art Agency, Parliament Publications, located in Los Angeles, created the best men's, adult bookstore magazines in the United States. Each issue featured high quality photography and layouts all printed on quality, coated paper.
