George Topfer 1920s French Spanking Drawings
Three erotic artworks by the French artist Georges Topfer, known primarily for his illustrations for flagellation novels published in Paris, late 1910s through to the early 1930s. Topfer's work appeared in over sixty bondage/flagellation novels including Petite Dactylo, Pension Whip, Sous Le Fouet, Miriam, Miss Cravache and Les Esclaves Moderne. His publishers included Orties Blanches, Librairie Franc-Anglaise and Librairie Artistique et Edition Parisienne reunies. Original graphite (pencil) drawings created in Topfer's very fine and detailed style with highlights in ink and white gouache; signed lower right corner. From deep in the archives.
Purchase from a client, however I believe these were once the property of the late Richard Merkin, celebrated artist, teacher, Manhattan dandy, indefatigable collector and author of the influential photo book, Velvet Eden. Original artworks by Topfer are rarely seen!
