OSTRA STUDIO Fetish Fashion Bondage S/M Paris 1930s

 

The fetish, bondage, female domination photographs, created by the combined talents of the Ostra and Biederer Studios remains some of the the most seductive fantasy imagery produced anywhere during the 1920s and early 1930s. Exceptional models, impeccably dressed in fetishistic clothing, were posed in submissive "tableaux vivante" and photographed. The studio team, comprised of two brothers, emigres to Paris from Hungary (the town of Moraska-Ostrava), created unparalleled imagery, posing talented models in marvelous fetish clothing. The final product, beautifully composed photographs, printed on the highest quality photo paper from excellent negatives, were unsurpassed and stand high above the rest of the 1920s/'30s genre photographs. OSTRA Derrieres Lingerie Fetish Paris 1920s~'30s

"C" is for chatte! The Ostra Studio in Paris was the culmination of immigrant brothers from Hungary joining forces to create the largest body of work devoted to "fetish tableaux" in the '20s and '30s. Their particular interest in derrieres, fetish clothing, bondage and s/m fantasies has left a significant and in many ways, unsurpassed legacy, whose influence can be seen today in the worlds of photography and fashion. FRENCH GIRLIE: Regal Magazine 1953 Nudes Strip Series

One of a large crop of digest size, Parisian girlie magazines appearing in the early 1950s, Regal conformed to the genre: seductive females posed nude and in lingerie usually emphasizing legs and derrieres. This particular issue had some very appealing models as well as creative uses of the camera and the darkroom: surreal double exposures and images montaged together. All together a wonderful small package of Parisienne charms.
