CAMERA Magazine Switzerland 1970s C.J.Bucher

CAMERA Magazine, published in Luzerne, Switzerland, represented for many years the highest quality gravure reproductions of photographs in any magazine. The golden age for this marvelous publication was from the 1960s to the early 1970s. The publisher, C.J.Bucher Company, spared no expense in producing the magazine, up until 1973 when the company was sold. Here, in no particular arrangement, are covers for the magazine from the early to mid-1970s. Coverage included giants of the field as well and emerging artists from around the world. Film Fun: Enoch Boles ~ American Pin-Up 1920s~1930s

For the love of American pin-ups, FILM FUN and Enoch Bolles (1883-1976), I'm posting a group of covers from the late 1920s to the mid 1930s. They speak for themselves and have a lot to say. For much more about this great American artist, refer to his bio as well as an excellent blogspot site devoted solely to Bolles' amazing artwork.

PARIS: Lumiere Exhibition @ The Grand Palais

Back to Paris for a rendezvous with my wife Susan at the marvelous Lumiere exhibition at the Grand Palais. The Lumiere brothers are larger than life contributors to the worlds of the cinema and photography, inventing, amongst other things the cinematographe and the first color photography process, the autochrome plate. The installation, in one of the enormous Grand Palais spaces, is bathed in blue light and very beautifully done. Sadly closed as of mid-June.
