Paris Paper Show: February 2012

The Paris Book, Paper and Antiques Show at Freyssinet flew by and it was great to once again participate. Above and below are photos of my stand in the Photo Ancienne area of the fair.

The grey fabric covering the wood walls looked great and was very easy for hanging my impromptu photo exhibition. Included in my presentation were photographs by Brassai, Manasse, Yva Richard Studio, Irving Klaw, F.X. Bertin, Monsieur "X", Ostra/Biederer Studio, Grundworth, Jean Moral and Roger Schall.

Alexandre Dupouy figuring out "the deal".

Saturday lunch from Le Perigord restaurant, set up for the duration at the venue. Three daily specials. Place your order, give your stand number, return 15 minutes later and your plate is ready to take back to your stand.
I love Paris!

The Photo Ancienne Area

Above and below: the stand of Philippe Legende exhibiting some exceptional photographs from the silent cinema.

Mid-day light pouring in through the upper wall of windows.

Above and below: The stand of Matthieu Cuchet.

Three of my fellow photo dealers; from the left: Philippe Legende, Philippe Jacquier and Matthieu Cuchet. The climate inside the (huge) venue for the two first days was frigid.

Above: Philipper Legende's stand and below, Philippe Jacquier's.

Books and Paper

Alain Gomet's stand, always overflowing with amazing cinema history.

Mark Wolfe and Olivier Antoine shared this stand overflowing with pin-up, glamour, nude and erotic photography. Great material!

Rare, hard cover editions of "bandes dessinees", French comic books.

Antiques

Napoleon, once again exiled!

A "set" waiting for the next episode of Twin Peaks to be taped!

Superb, seashell fantasy ceramic, circa 1950s?

Acrylic pin-up figurines, many of them characters from French comics, popular in the 1990s and now very collectible.

Nice display of clocks and lighting fixtures.

Beautiful vitrine display of toys and objets d'art.

After closing my stand Sunday evening....

...dinner, bathed in the yellow light of Le Bistro Du Dome in Montparnasse. Jocelyne Dupouy, Gilles Berquet (top) + Alexandre Dupouy and Mirka Lugosi.
