CIRCUS PERFORMERS Postcards 1900-1930s

Circus, vaudeville, stage and "variete" performers have been a popular theme for collectors for many years and really took off in the 1980s. "Circus folk" are not mutually exclusive of the "unusual people" from the previous post, however collectors who collect one, tend not to collect the other. Freaks are attractions, their physical disability is what makes them interesting. Performers are people with special skills, who display their creative talents on stage and in the circus as clowns, wire-walkers, trapeze artists, jugglers, magicians, balancing acts and contortionists.

Here is a group of postcards depicting a variety of English and European performers, circa 1900 to the early 1930s.
