East coast/west coast publication and consumption of "adult bookstore" magazines started in early '60s and by the end of the decade had exploded due to the efforts of Parliament, Selbee, Health Knowledge, Marquis, Press Arts and other publishers who found their specialty within the genre and expanded as pop-culture and censorship laws changed.
