ART et PHOTOGRAPHIE French Nudes 1950 Brassai

At the debut of the 1950s Paris was still in recovery from the effects of WWII. Publishers slowly began to get back to work and Art et Photographie was created. The sixteen page, small format magazine, printed in sepia toned gravures was filled cover to cover with full-page bleeds of the female form. Here are covers and a few photos from the first five issues, published circa 1950. The list of contributors was like a who's who of Parisian genre photographers of the era: Brassai (thirty-one photos included), Dorvyne, Nora Dumas, Ergy Landau, Andre Steiner, Lokay, Quinio-Elmerich, George Henri and Koruna.
