NYLONS & NUDES 1950s Digests Garter Belts & Stockings

In the mid/late 1950s in New York City the first specialty magazines appeared, all in a "digest" size (approx 5.5" x 8") created by a handful of independent publishers. The magazines were sold only in adult bookstores. Some of the most popular were the "garters and hose" titles, precursors to what Elmer Batters' and company would create in Los Angeles in the late 1950s and eventually take-off as Parliament publications.

A selection from the archives featuring Black Nylons and High Heels, Garter Parade, the very scarce Stocking Parade, Black Satin and Nylon Legs
